>Hot Water

How to heat water for your house.

Passive (no pump, no power) hot water is based on the same principle as the box heater. Water is pushed into the tank by gravity from a storage tank where it is then heated by direct sunlight. It is a batch heater - the heater tank is also the storage tank for hot water. It can be kept hot at night and on cloudy days with insulation in the box and making a insulated door/cover.

Cold water enters at the bottom of the tank, hot water is drawn off the top.

My DVD shows the construction and installation of a low-cost and very efficient solar hot water system.
